Paint The Fair, a plein air contest

Villages Folk School hosts a 3-day outdoor fresh air (plein air) painting contest held during the Van Buren County Fair.  A final exhibit of paintings (to be judged and available for sale) will start at 5pm on Friday the 26th under the fairgrounds' grandstand.   

Artists gather in Van Buren County to be inspired by the historic and scenic beauty of our rural countryside, waterways, and villages.  You will find them and their easels along gravel roads, city parks, and overlooks. Over $1200 in cash will be awarded for top prizes Friday at 5:30pm.  These gorgeous original pieces of art make excellent additions to anyone's collection. You may pledge to purchase a painting in advance and receive first viewing before the exhibit is open to the public to select your painting.
