Where is Keosauqua?
Keosauqua, the county seat, is located in historic Van Buren county on the "big bend" of the Des Moines River in extreme southeast Iowa . . . one of the earliest settled parts of the original Iowa Territory. Keosauqua is just 6 miles north of the junction of Highways 1 & 2.
Just 8 miles north of the Missouri border, Keosauqua is 20 miles south of Fairfield, 40 miles southeast of Ottumwa and 60 miles west of Ft. Madison.
